Paturi Fish – Banana Leaf Fish Parcels in Mustard Paste
Ingredients
4 fish fillets cut to 4*2 inch pices
2 tablespoons Mustard seeds
1 tablespoon Poppy seeds
1/4 cup Fresh coconut , grated, plus more to garnish
7 Green Chillies , slit
1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
Salt , to taste
1 Banana leaf , cut into 10*8 rectangles
2 teaspoons Mustard oil
Regular Cooking Oil
Lemon Wedges Kitchen safe tying thread
Directions
In a grinder, add mustard seeds, poppy seeds, green chili, salt, coconut, turmeric and a little water to make into a paste
Remove and add Mustard Oil
Apply the paste to the fish liberally on all sides
Cover in a banana leaf and tie with a string
Heat pan, pour a little oil and cook the fish parcels on both sides for 5 – 7 mins on medium flame
6. Serve with Lemon Wedges and a green chili
